Despite an election commission ban,Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has diverted another chunk of Rs1.2 billion – this time out of the flood donation fund – towards constituencies of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) senior leaders in a bid to lure voters just as elections approach.

Govt to take a stand against misuse of vehicles by bureaucrats

The federal government has decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against bureaucrats who are misusing official cars despite availing the compulsory monetisation policy – which entitles them to a handsome monthly car allowance – and purchasing official cars at throwaway prices.

18th Amendment:Provinces to censor their own films

The 18th amendment implementation commission has decided in principle to devolve the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) to provinces.

According to documents available with The Express Tribune,Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi chaired a meeting of the federal and provincial bureaucracy on Monday to discuss matters related to devolution of the culture ministry.
